Can this dance make the world a better place?
With all the terrible news being shown on media outlets, it’s easy to get caught up in the fear and anger that these images stir in our hearts and minds. A daunting task of any parent is explaining to our kids what they are seeing on the news, and how we can maintain a positive outlook for our children’s future when the world at large is looking pretty grim.
Could a tribute dance to the King of Pop heal the world and make it a better place? (Warning: some heavy-themed news snippets at the beginning of the video.)

The amazing dancer (and obviously amazing human being) Tobias Ellehammer was tired of seeing all the negativity in the world and wanted to make a positive difference. Joining forces with dancers and choreographers (and an awesome video producer) from across the globe, Tobias set out to create one epic dance video to celebrate the diversity and beauty of the world and it’s cultures. Set to Michael Jackson’s hit ‘Black or White’, against a backdrop of places across the globe, how can you not smile, nod your head, tap your foot, or even get down and boogie to this? Also, can you identify all the locations? (Spoiler: Sydney makes an appearance!)
It’s inspiring for young and old (and fans of MJ!), and a beautiful reminder to us all that “it don't matter if you're black or white”; the way we can make the future bright is to focus on the good, and inspire others to love and enjoy each other's company, gifts and talents. I think MJ was right all along – if we want to make the world a better place, we should take a look at ourselves and make a change.
Tobias used his art to “remind all of us how incredibly important love and freedom is and to put something good out into this world.” In that spirit we should strive to teach our kids to be true global citizens, to be compassionate and to love people from all walks of life. By doing this, we can take a step in the right direction to a better future.
If you love the dancing, or you’re a fan of Michael Jackson, or both, pass this video on to spread the good vibes!
