Hell no!! Pimple popping cupcakes are the new frontier in party food.
Well here’s a party cake idea that never made it to the Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake book…pimple popping cupcakes!
If you ever wanted a party food guaranteed to gross-out your guests- this is it! Just imagine serving these at your kiddo’s next birthday party – while you’d definitely make the parent black-list in an instant, you‘d surely score some kid-cred for pure disgustingness.
So just who is responsible for cupcakes that look like a pimple, and why, oh why were they ever made??
Created by Californian company, Blessed by Baking, these foul finger-foods were inspired by, and created for, the hugely popular dermatologist, Dr Sandra Lee, who is known to her legions of YouTube fans as, Dr Pimple Popper.
Dr Pimple Popper, if you don’t know, has come to fame for filming various dermatological treatments and posting them onto her YouTube channel. While she’s been known to post useful information about different diseases of the skin, hair and nails, the real reason people go to her channel is to watch some of the goriest pimple-popping videos you’ll ever see. And before you say, “ewww gross, no one wants to watch pimple popping videos”, just check out her numbers. Some of her more pop-ular pimple popping clips have wracked up more than 29 million views.
Rachael Sanchez, who runs Blessed by Baking, has also worked for Dr Pimple Popper in her office for more than four years, and she brought in her pimple cupcakes as part of a potluck food day that was happening in the dermatologist’s office. Once Dr Pimple Popper herself posted an image of the unusual sweet treats onto her Instagram, these crusty cupcakes went viral. In case you were wondering, Dr Pimple Popper herself demonstrated the correct way to eat one of these sickly sweets – which is to pop the top, and then pop it into your mouth.
Would you actually eat one - and who wants the recipe?
