Ladies, Get Smug – We Got This One.
Finally! Science has proved what all of us mums already know – women need more sleep than men. Dudes, we’ve been trying to tell you. And now we can shout it from the rooftops.
Because of our busy, amazing, multitasking brains, ladies need 20 minutes more sleep a day than a man does. SCIENCE HAS PROVED IT!
Personally, I feel it could be a bit more than 20 minutes, but if my eldest kid is 7, that’s 1,022,000 minutes of extra sleep my husband owes me. Ha!
All those times I have sworn I was tireder than him. Well, I was right.
And you know what? It feels good! It’s a real wakeup call (insert eye roll emoji).
Neuroscientist Jim Horne, from Loughborough University, which is, well, I’m too tired to care, has discovered that women need more recovery and repair time on their brain because we think of so many things at once. Aren’t we just the best?
It’s a double whammy.
