One Day From Two Very Different Perspectives
Being a stay at home mum can be one of the most rewarding jobs in the world.
But lets face it, when you’re stuck in the day to day, it can be hard, exhausting, boring and frustrating.
And then you get those helpful people in the supermarket queue while the baby is screaming and the toddler is unwrapping chocolate bars who tell you to enjoy every minute because ‘it goes so fast’.
Parenting requires more patience than any of us have. We need to have stamina, buckets of kindness and the ability to pick up and move on quickly.
No one is a perfect parent, and sometimes raising humans feels overwhelming.
That’s why we love the concept of this video.
After a long day, the dad comes home and asks his family about their day. The first half of the video is from the mums perspective – a day filled with endless cleaning, navigating tantrums, solving arguments between siblings and the monotonous day to day stuff.
It’s just a normal day for this mum of two little kids.
But then the dad asks the little girl about her day and the same events are so different through her eyes. The day is filled with fun, kisses, cuddles and laughter. It’s about shared moments with her family.
The video is a lovely reminder that the daily struggles are also memory making moments for us all. Kids don’t nee to go to Disneyland every day. They just need to be loved and listened to.
Us parents beat ourselves up about not being ‘perfect’. But we don’t need to be.
