#iMumSoHard: Swimmers Shopping

Cozzie shopping. We all hate it.

I bet even Giselle Bundchen has days when trying on a bikini makes her want to hurl. Well, I like to think so anyway.

Because buying a swimsuit makes me break out in a rash. Which is the last thing you want when you have to inspect all your bits close up for what can seem like hours.

I always start out full of hope. Visions of me gallivanting along a beach in slo-mo with my family, looking fabulous and feeling securely fastened and radiant.

But the reality is a little different...

The bum bit never quite covers mine, or gives me more cheeks than I require. And the body bit is always a bit short and rides right up the front bottom.

Then the boobs. Well, don't even start. The padding bit often ends up somewhere near my arm pits and the actual boobs are starting their own free the nipple campaign.

I rotate slowly like a chicken yeeros inspecting everything and pray that it's the awful lighting that is giving me weird lumps and releasing more bits than holding them.

Of course, the teenage shopping assistant who probably came runner up in miss world last year says it looks great. So I buy it. Then I buy a giant rashie to cover myself. And feel deflated.

So I try shopping online. This is just silly. I end up buying 5 costumes in case one might work, and it's just disappointment after disappointment as they cut into, strangle and abuse my lovely lady lumps. Then I have to mail them back, which is just boring and sad.

That's why we loved this mum comedy sketch about swim suit season. These mums hilariously try on swimmers and comment on the ridiculousness of them.

But they also have a more powerful message.

That we should just go to the beach and enjoy the beach without caring about how we look.

And that we should be modelling this behaviour for our children.

Kristin Hensley, one of the creators from #imomsohard told the Huff Post,

“I want my daughter to love her life and to love herself and she’s not going to do it because I tell her to do it,” she said. “She’s going to do it because I teach her to do it.”

There other sketches and confessionals are hilarious too - check them out here
