These futuristic clothes grow with your kids
As parents there's a natural tendency to provide everything you can for your child. The sheer amount of clothing my kids have worn and outgrown surely adds up to more than I've needed in the last 10 years (or maybe I'm just a bit of a dag). Countless boxes have gone to donation bins here and care packages overseas and it makes me think, how is it possible that we're creating and buying so much only to get rid of it within a year?
Imagine if kids clothes could last that bit longer so we didn't need to buy and dispose of so many items?
Designed by Ryan Mario Yasin, Petit Ply is a clothing range that is forward-thinking in design and made of high tech materials fit for the kids of the future, today! According to the website, "children grow 7 sizes in their first 2 years on Earth and this equates to a lot of wasted clothing" so Petit Pli garments grow with your kids in an accordion-like manner, reducing the need to buy (and eventually get rid of) so many clothes. Ryan's vision for Petit Pli is working towards minimising waste and accommodating for children's needs by not only being waterproof, windproof and childproof, but also future proof (and it could help with easing strain on the wallet!)
I think Petit Pli is a great step in the right direction for a more sustainable future. If only we could get used to the pleated yo-yo doll / concertina look... Maybe we could leave it to our grandkids to rock this functional fashion.
Would you buy Petit Pli clothes for your kids?
