Fright Night Spooktacular! Melbourne’s New Family Friendly Halloween Festival
I tried to fight it, honestly I did! For years I railed against the whole concept, but in the end my three daughters’ unwavering enthusiasm for all things Halloween finally wore me down. So for the past few years, on the 31st October, we’ve been dressing up and partaking in spooky activities, from dress up competitions at restaurants to standard trick or treating in the neighbourhood… and I have to admit, it’s been a lot of fun!
This year, we’ll be starting our Halloween festivities a little early, with what promises to be a bone-chillingly creepy night out at a new event – the Fright Night Spooktacular, to be held at the Cranbourne Racecourse on Saturday 28th October.
It’s designed to be a frighteningly fun Halloween festival for the whole family. From 5pm until 11pm, visitors can come dressed in their favourite Halloween costumes and wander down Spook Street for tricks and treats, then take a ride on the Ghost Train, see what unexpected and unnatural acts are on display at the CarnEvil Circus, and be mesmerised by fire twirling devils. There’s also live music and entertainment from the Dead Gangsters Band as well as Ruby Ray and Dr. Jazz, plus gory storytelling, face painting, a glow zone, an alchemist’s potions lab, and showbags and amusements for all ages.
And when it’s time to eat, drink and be scary, if your stomach isn’t churning with fear, there are lots of freaky food vans to keep you going. So if you’ve got it, haunt it at the very first Fright Night Spooktacular – it’ll be toad-ly eerie-sistible!
