Hailing from the NSW country town of Wagga Wagga, Sam was born to entertain. He was only a preschooler when he showed talent for music and has been singing and playing ever since.
Sam got his first break as an entertainer with The Wiggles whilst studying music education at Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music. In 2006, Sam was offered the role of the Yellow Wiggle, performing at places like New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the Great Wall of China. In 2010, Sam unveiled his first solo project for his adult fans with his album entitled ‘The Colour of Love’.
Celebrating over 15 years as a preschool entertainer, Sam has now embarked on a solo career, collaborating with Nick Jr. to launch his first solo TV series, Play Along with Sam exclusively on Foxtel. Showcasing his musical talents, the series features 20 new original songs written by Moran, which have also been included on his first solo album, Play Along with Sam. The album has been nominated for Best Children’s Album at the 2013 ARIA Awards.
Beyond television, Sam has spread his music with an east coast tour of Play Along with Sam Live and headlined the first Little Splendour stage at this year’s Splendour in the Grass festival. He will be performing live to fans on his NSW Regional Christmas Tour and at Carols in the City (with Guy Sebastian), as the first ambassador for The Sebastian Foundation. Sam is also an ambassador for Variety The Children’s charity, performing at both their annual Sydney Fun Run and Christmas Concert.
You can watch Sam every day on Nick Jr. in his popular short-form series 'Play Along with Sam'.
Sam and his wife Lyn have a daughter Eloise aged 3.
